SEG Solar at PV CellTech USA Features Cutting-Edge Technology and Global Supply Chain
San Francisco, California – October 8, 2024 – SEG Solar (SEG), a leading US-based photovoltaic module manufacturer, showcased its latest technological advancements and strategic plans during the PV CellTech USA conference. CEO Jim Wood addressed attendees, detailing SEG's breakthroughs in cell technology and its efficient global supply chain.
According to TrendForce, the industry is projected to see a significant increase in N-type cell capacity, expected to reach around 1417GW by the end of the year, with N-type cells making up roughly 76% of the total. SEG has established a fully integrated facility in Indonesia. This facility includes ten cutting-edge N-type cell production lines, each capable of producing 5GW annually.
SEG has also launched a dedicated R&D center focused on the continuous development of cell technologies. This center is pivotal to the company's strategy to strengthen its global market presence and ensure a robust supply chain, particularly supporting operations in Houston. The company places a strong emphasis on material traceability and supply reliability.
The Houston manufacturing facility features a fully automated production line equipped with advanced technologies like precision laminators, extended curing systems, and high-speed sorters. These technologies are designed to enhance operational efficiency and product consistency. The adoption of advanced ERP and MES systems has transformed production management, providing seamless tracking from raw materials to final products.
SEG is dedicated to expanding its US module production capabilities and is currently evaluating options for constructing a new cell production facility. During his speech, Jim Wood emphasized the company's commitment to research and development, setting clear goals to improve the performance and reliability of both cells and modules. SEG aims to ensure safety and deliver superior value to customers, aligning with its vision of promoting a sustainable, low-carbon future.
