SEG Exhibiting YUKON Family at RE+ Texas 2024
SEG Solar ("SEG"), a leading U.S. producer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, showcased the latest generation YUKON series N-type photovoltaic modules at RE+ 2024 in Texas.
YUKON Family shines at exhibition
Texas is a major player in the US solar market, with robust demand, supportive policies, and active investment in the industry chain. According to data from SEIA, Texas has accumulated over 22.8GW of solar installed capacity, ranking second in the nation, and is poised to add 40.9GW in the next five years, becoming the top in the country. Fueled by market enthusiasm, the exhibition scene was exceptionally lively. SEG, as a local enterprise in Texas, attracted considerable attention.
Featured at the exhibition were the YUKON N-type Black Diamond 435W module and the YUKON N-type 585W module. These two modules, based on M10 (182mm) silicon wafers and N-type solar cell technology, have gained popularity in the US market for their outstanding high power, efficiency, electricity generation, and reliability.
The YUKON N-type Black Diamond 435W module delivers ultimate efficiency output and features a unique all-black design, providing an exceptional residential solar experience and leading in rooftop scenarios. By utilizing 1.6mm lightweight glass, the YUKON N-type Black Diamond 435W module cuts weight by 15% compared to standard 2.0mm modules, slashing transportation costs and labor, and empowering North American clients.
The YUKON N-type 585W module achieves an impressive 22.65% module efficiency, -0.29%/°C temperature coefficient, 85% bifaciality, and 1% first-year degradation, greatly reducing BoS costs and the levelized cost of energy. This effectively increases the profitability of solar farms, favored by utility and large-scale solar users.
Local manufacturing drives North American industry upgrade
During the exhibition, SEG CEO Jim Wood was invited to participate in a SEIA Session, discussing the appeal of Texas, USA, to clean energy manufacturers, critical issues facing manufacturers, and how the clean energy manufacturing industry can accelerate economic growth, helping the US achieve decarbonization and resilience goals.
"SEG is dedicated to boosting solar manufacturing in the US and offering localized production services. Our Houston factory just installed its first equipment batch. Trials start June, aiming for an annual capacity over 2GW," said Jim Wood during the session. "It's our pledge to renewable energy and boosting local manufacturing for energy independence."
SEG hopes to collaborate with more investors and peers to advance product innovation and green manufacturing, establish a solid and efficient local supply chain, and contribute to the prosperity of the solar energy future.
